Whether a stylish part of the building or a healthy alternative to the elevators, staircases are sensitive areas with special safety concerns. The staircase flooring will have to withstand heavy traffic, provide a slip-resistant grip and improve accessibility with contrasting colours and structured stair noses. In the case of a fire escape stairwell, the floor will also need to comply with fire regulations.
